Advancing Neuroendocrine Cancer Research

Launched in July 2023, our Advancing Neuroendocrine Cancer Research Campaign is dedicated to driving meaningful progress in understanding and managing neuroendocrine cancer. This complex and lesser-known cancer type often lacks representation in research, leaving patients with fewer opportunities to benefit from advancements in treatment and care. Through this campaign, Neuroendocrine Cancer UK aims to transform how research is conducted and fund impactful studies that support patients both today and in the future.

Why Research Matters

Research provides vital insights into diseases, uncovering causes, improving treatment options, and enhancing the quality of life for patients. For neuroendocrine cancer, research is essential to address unmet needs, reduce delays in diagnosis, and improve management and outcomes.

Campaign Goals

Our two-fold approach ensures immediate and long-term impact:

  • Practice-Changing Grants: Funding at least three grants annually to deliver practical solutions that improve patient experiences within 12 months. Open to healthcare professionals, these grants focus on clear, measurable benefits.
  • Big-Question Research: Supporting medium- to long-term studies to explore key areas such as causes, genetics, genomics, diagnosis delays, and better treatment options.

Campaign Updates

  • July 2023: Partnered with RareCan, a digital platform empowering patients to share data and participate in research, making it easier for researchers to connect with neuroendocrine cancer cohorts.
  • July 2023: Collaborated with Ancora.ai, which helps patients find clinical trials personalised to their needs. Their accessible database makes trial options clear and actionable. Explore Ancora.ai.
