Specialist Centres
We understand that being diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. That is why it is crucial to receive the best possible care from experts who specialise in this complex type of cancer.
At Neuroendocrine Cancer UK, we recognise the importance of being seen by a neuroendocrine specialist who understands the unique needs of patients with this condition. That’s why we’ve listed all of the Centres of Excellence and Neuroendocrine Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams and Clinics around the UK on this page.
We believe that every patient deserves access to the best possible care, regardless of their location or circumstances. By providing this comprehensive list of specialist centers, we hope to make it easier for patients to find the expert care they need and deserve.
We encourage you to explore this page, learn more about the various specialist centers and clinics, and take the first step toward receiving the best possible care for your neuroendocrine cancer.
‘NET’ Centres of Excellence have experienced teams who regularly see patients with neuroendocrine cancers, including Lung NETs. As a consequence, they are in the best position to offer the most up-to-date follow-up and treatment protocols.”
Centres see patients with both neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) and neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) – and some offer further specialisation including the management and care of Carcinoid Heart Disease.
They are also more likely to have clinical trials available which offer patients more choice compared to clinics outside of this setting; eg General Oncology, . . . Furthermore, as the landscape for neuroendocrine cancer diagnosis and management changes rapidly – it is extremely important that real-world data/outcomes / experience are shared and collated so that we can ensure meaningful progress is made for patients suffering from these varied cancers. This progress in development, through collaboration and information sharing, will best happen through accredited ‘NET’ Centres of Excellence.
Getting Access to the Right Care
If you’ve been diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer, it’s essential that your case is reviewed by a specialised, accredited “NET” specific Multi-Disciplinary Team (NET MDT) regularly.
In this guide, we provide a list of current experts, clinics, and Centres of Excellence, along with information on how to obtain a referral to one of these centres. You’ll also find guidance on how to best prepare for your appointments, including speaking with your doctor, and a list of useful questions to ask during your appointments.
