The Safe Sick Pay campaign is planning a national day of action on Friday 7th February, ahead of the Report Stage of the Employment Rights Bill in Parliament. The aims are to encourage MPs to vote for two amendments to the Bill:
- Steps towards an increase in the rate of Statutory Sick Pay to at least 80% of the National Living Wage, phased in over 5 years, such as via a statutory consultation with a timeline.
- A change in the wording of the removal of the Lower Earnings Limit and a replacement rate of at least 80% so that the lowest-income workers have a higher safety net when they are off sick (information here)
