Sunflower Lanyard Scheme for Hidden Disabilities

May 24, 2019

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has become the latest in a series of transport providers to introduce sunflower lanyards for those who have a hidden disability or condition. The bright green sunflower print lanyard is fast becoming the symbol of hidden disabilities in the UK.

NPF are happy to see that most UK airports have also already taken up this scheme. Further details on travel assistance can be found on the UK Civil Aviation Authority website here.

“Passengers with hidden disabilities who wish to travel independently at the airport will have the option of wearing a sunflower lanyard, recognised by our staff to provide the passenger with any help that may be required at various stages of the journey.” – Heathrow Airport
